It inhibits multiple metabolic processes, including RNA processing, nucleic acid synthesis, protein synthesis, and methylation of tRNA through intracellular incorporation into nucleic acids. Tubercidin acts as a plant antifungal, inhibits mammalian SAH hydrolase (SAHH), and blocks purine biosynthesis in Candida famata.
